McArdle
used to put videos of himself in papers he sent back after grading. From what I saw it's McArdle sitting in an office room, wearing a baseball cap, probably yelling at the student writer.
Scary. I'm kindof glad Blackboard doesn't support those videos.
I've also noticed McArdle uses his hands A LOT while talking. He reminds me of my friend Kenny, who we all call 'Kenny Cuphands'
Kenny cuphands always uses grand hand gestures, but never removes his hand from the cupped position. It doesn't matter what he's doing, waving HANDS CUPPED, pointing to something outside HANDS CUPPED, hugging someone HANDS CUPPED, even when he's simply talking to you HANDS CUPPED! He's crazy. The fact that his hands are never uncupped, is in itself CRAZY.

I realllll glad the video thing is a no go.. That's so weird/intimidating.
ReplyDeleteAlso, after reading this post, I realized how funny the word "cupped" is. I literally laughed so hard.. People in the Atrium are staring.. Embarrassing..
Oh Kim, it's healthy to laugh out loud often!
ReplyDeleteI do it all them time, but....yes, people will stare.
See you today for our group meeting!
first, the videos i used were well received by my students and far less intimidating than my actual notes - second, i don't think i speak with my hands that much, do i? i've given presentations at conferences and my hands are holding both a wireless clicker and my outline - or... i could be using my hands as a distraction so that none of you realize the genius material that i am teaching you until it is too late!
ReplyDeleteOKAY OKAY.
ReplyDeleteI guess the videos wouldn't be completely awful....BUT I did notice your hand choreography during class. Although it may have indeed been a Grand Distraction!
If so... bravo McArdle...bravo.
